Rebbeca Vogel

I am a Polymer Clay artist who began by making Memory Beads which are made from the petals of flowers from funerals, weddings or other memorable events. I make jewelry items as well as sculpture and home décor items from the clay. I have studied polymer clay techniques under an artist from Canada and one from Israel. The cultural differences give the opportunity for different slants on designs. The majority of the beads in my jewelry are handmade with Polymer Clay.

From Polymer Clay I expanded into jewelry grade resin to preserve the entire flowers and make other types of jewelry. With resin the possibilities are endless.

I am a student of “fine” silver. Fine silver is 99.9% pure silver. It doesn’t tarnish like sterling silver which has other metals in it and is only 92.5% silver. While being a bit softer than sterling, fine silver works great for jewelry.

My handwoven items are weaved on an Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom. I weave wall hangings, scarfs, wraps, pillows and place mats.

I have lived in Quincy, IL for thirteen years. I am now retired but spent the majority of my career in media sales, abandoning my career as an accountant. I discovered I love people and interacting with them. I am happily married to Charlie Vogel. Together we travel and play as much golf as possible.
